The redesign of Stratosfare Restaurant created an exciting new concept that marries buffet and a la carte dining options with a stunning venue that captures the theatre of a working kitchen.
Skyline Enterprises is a major operator in the North Island’s largest tourist hub, Rotorua. Its gondola experience attracts hundreds of overseas tourists every day and the refurbishment of Stratosfare restaurant created an additional enticement for gondola users, who can now experience Rotorua in a completely new way.
The interior redesign of the restaurant completely transformed the existing space. An emphasis on materials that showcase New Zealand design has created a talking point that enables restaurant staff to engage with visitors.
Luxurious feature marble, granite, local schist stonework and timber are complemented by feature lighting by leading New Zealand lighting designer, David Trubridge. Spectacular 180-degree panoramic views of Lake Rotorua and the surrounding city make for an enchanting dining experience.
Stratosfare was created around the theatre of the grill and live cooking along the buffet line. Features include a fresh mussel tank, aged meat display and award winning meat dishes.
The restaurant caters for functions of up to 400 guests and can be broken down to smaller venues for more intimate functions.
