13 April H+B Lockset Impresses In the US
In light of the increasing size of doors, in mid 2013 the team at Halliday + Baillie introduced an up scaled version of our well-known flush and bi-fold pull ranges. The HB1470, HB1475, HB1480 Series and HB1490 Series cover a range of door types and sizes from cavity sliders, to pivot doors, in standard flush pull, snibbing, and privacy set configurations.
As well as filling a gap in the hardware market for doors of this size, the new range continues our classic, pared back style. In recognition of this the HB1490 Series has recently been chosen as a finalist in the prestigious Architizer A+ Jury Awards in the ‘Building Products – Hardware’ category. The Series includes options for sliding doors including privacy sets, snibs both sides, and single sided sets.
Now in their third year, the American Architizer A+ Awards are classed as “the definitive global architectural & product award program with 90+ categories and over 300 judges”. Entries are received from firms around the world, and judged buy an international panel of architects, designers, cultural leaders and people who actually hire architects. These include Beatrice Galilee, Curator of Architecture and Design at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Natalie de Vries, Architect and Co-Founder of MVRDV, and Evan Sharp, Co-Founder of Pinterest.
It is exciting to have a product designed and made in New Zealand recognised on the work stage, especially in some pretty illustrious company. In a letter of congratulations, the CEO of Architizer commented that “with entries from over 100 countries, your work truly represents the best of architecture worldwide. We want to thank you and your team for creating brilliant work for us to recognise and admire.”.
