14 June Heavy Sliding Door Solution by CS FOR DOORS for Devonport Library
The new Devonport Library building has 950m2 of floor space, but sits within the same footprint as the former library on Windsor Reserve. Featuring high ceilings and a mezzanine floor area, the design incorporates a number of innovative features.
CS FOR DOORS was contacted by Athfield Architects to deliver a solution for large sliding timber doors to close off a community room. Due to the size and weight of the doors required, there was a risk of timber doors bowing and warping, as well as being too heavy and difficult to operate.
The solution was to use our CS AluTec aluminium door as a substrate for cladding by De Bruin Judge. Our CS Heavy Duty Track System has been used to take the load of the 300kg+ doors, resulting in an easily operable, smooth rolling door system.
