Timber Joinery since 1937 - For 80 years McNaughton’s has built a reputation supplying the best products with the best service. McNaughton Windows & Doors specialise in manufacturing timber joinery, including Alti, for architecturally designed new build and renovation projects.

Whether it’s windows, doors, shutters or stairs, McNaughton’s have a team of experienced visionary designers and craftsman ready to assist.

Founded in 1937 by Jack McNaughton and soon joined by his two brothers Max and Noel, McNaughton Windows and Doors quickly became a leader of New Zealand’s timber window and door market.

Through the years, the philosophy has remained constant. Use the best people and equipment to create the best products, and create the systems to create the best service. With that McNaughton’s soon became the largest exterior window and door manufacturers in New Zealand and have not let up.

The growth of McNaughton Windows & Doors was rapid and initially was on the back of winning timber window and door manufacturing contracts for Maori Affairs and State housing projects. The company proudly points to numerous examples of its windows and doors manufactured in the 1940’s and 50’s still operating, and with a ‘sand and paint’ will continue to look and function superbly for years to come.

Through relentless endeavor to innovate, McNaughton’s branched into architecturally designed timber windows and doors supplying customised windows and doors to New Zealand nationwide and the wider pacific including high end Hawaii export projects in the 1990’s. Since then the innovations have kept rolling including:

  • A tested suit of fire doors and windows (the only compliant fire window manufacturer in NZ)
  • Establishment of a full suite of NZS4211 building code compliant timber joinery in 2014, a first for the timber window and door industry
  • Purchasing New Zealand’s largest ‘pod and rail’ 5 axis Homag CNC machine in 2015
