Timspec was established in 1990 as a wholesaler of specialty timbers. Today we import, export, and wholesale a large range of timbers to joiners, furniture manufacturers, and builders supply merchants. Timbers stocked include species from North America, South America, Europe, Africa, South East Asia, Australia, and New Zealand's exotic and indigenous species.

With a commitment to providing uncompromising service, we deliver good quality timber on time, time and time again. We aim to dispatch orders within 24 hours, and consistently achieve this.

Timspec is wholly NZ owned and is managed by the owners - a tightly run ship.

Timspec is the official CertClad Supplier for New Zealand and has both FSC and PEFC Chain-of-Custody certification.

CertClad (“Certified Cladding”/ & Weatherboards) is certified under the CodeMark scheme, showing that a building product or system meets the requirements of the New Zealand Building Code. This provides you with the highest level of confidence and certainty in the performance of our cladding.

(Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes) & (Forest Stewardship Council™)
Timspec is proud to be the first major timber importer to be FSC and PEFC Chain-of-Custody accredited. We always try to provide FSC and PEFC certified timber weatherboards, and while this is not possible all the time, if it is important to you then just let our sales team know when you place an order and we will ensure you are supplied timber certifiable as coming from responsibly managed forest.

Accoya wood
Accoya is the world's leading high technology wood. Created from sustainably sourced softwood, Accoya matches or exceeds the durability, stability, and beauty of the very best hardwoods. Its excellent durability and stability means this timber is suited for projects that start to push the boundaries on what can be accomplished with timber cladding. Learn more here.

Cedar (Western Red)
Cedar has been traditionally used as cladding for decades in New Zealand. Its lightweight nature, attractive grain and good durability means it’s a great choice for weatherboards. Learn more here.

Pine (Radiata)
New Zealand grown Radiata Pine is the most commonly used timber for weatherboards and allows for a more cost-effective solution. Learn more here.
