A French Late 20th Century Castelnaudary Urn
A beautiful, good scale French late 20th century multi green glazed Earthenware Castelnaudary urn with four lateral handles. Most Castelnaudary pots are in an all over darker green glaze. I love that this urn has more vibrancy with the swathes of lighter green and lime tones. Drainage hole in base.
These pots are made in the village of Castelnaudary which is in the South of France. At the Mayor's request, Castelnaudary planters graced the boulevards of Toulouse during the mid-nineteenth century.
