An antique alabaster and gilt-bronze female bustSantuzz c.1900.Her hair is wrapped in a scarf, and she is set on a plinth base, the reverse inscribed Prof re. E. Romani Firenze (Italia). Santuzza is the main character in the Opera Cavalleria Rusticana, written by Pietro Mascagni, which first premiered in 1890.
