By Colonial Hot Tubs
The customer chose the 7 foot tub to allow for more relaxed soaking with larger numbers of people. Entry stairs to the tub were custom built for ease of access and no seats were needed as the stairs were to act as seats if necessary. Also the customer prefered to wallow in the depth of the tub floating more freely instead of assigned seating positions.
The tub was placed inside a Hynds concrete manhole base to add thermal heat retention to the set up. The tub was pre plumbed using a template to mark holes for pipes to penetrate the concrete walls.
Between the top of the concrete manhole base and hot tub we built a custom shelf around the entire circumferance of the tub that doubles as a step up into the tub.
The exterior of the concrete manhole was lined with identical cedar to the hot tub in keeping with the aesthetics of the project.
A heat pump and remote pump house were installed to keep the look of the tub simple and remove ambient noise. This is also the most efficient way the heat the tub.
